ABSTRACT

Normal urine has an amber-yellow color, therefore, in the case of different colors it is necessary to determine the cause. The case of a 12-years-old schoolgirl treated for severe head trauma and cerebral hypertension, who presented a green urine five days after hospitalization. The attributable cause was the administration of propofol (2 mg/kg/h), after ruling out other possibilities (food, medications, infection, metabolic and anatomical alterations). The reduction of propofol prevented further urinary pigmentation.
