ABSTRACT

Superior ophthalmic vein thrombosis is a rare entity, it usually presents with sudden onset proptosis, conjunctival injection, and visual disturbance. As of now limited studies have addressed this condition. We present the case of a 38-year-old male with a fourteen-year history of progressive left-sided eye protrusion, and cavernous sinus thrombosis, unusually accompanied by a venous angioma. Several causes have been associated with this presentation; early recognition and treatment of the underlying etiology may provide a better prognosis and prevent complications.
