ABSTRACT

Approximately, 5 to 15% of malignant ovarian tumors are metastases, being the large bowel the most associated organ. We present the case of a 51-year-old patient who presented with an occlusive sigmoid tumor associated with a synchronous ovarian metastases. The treatment of ovarian metastases from colorectal carcinoma is surgical resection. Oophorectomy improves the nutritional status of patients, decreases C-reactive protein values and increases 3-years survival in R0 and R1 resections.
