The study analyzes the relationship between the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio and complicated acute appendicitis. However, the use of ROC curves to assess sensitivity and specificity does not address the stated objective. Methodological errors were identified in the interpretation of results and the statistical tests used. Additionally, the conclusions lack support, as the reported specificity is low. It is recommended to adjust the study design and analysis to obtain more accurate conclusions.
