ABSTRACT
In a post-transplant patient, the presence of anemia can vary depending on the definition used and the time of onset. Post-transplant anemia is generally a multifactorial process (drugs, infections, comorbidities). From an epidemiological standpoint, parvovirus B19 infection affects 40-60% of the population. Specifically in kidney transplantation, parvovirus B19 infection is a rare infectious complication. The presence of viral DNA has been demonstrated in the blood of 20-30% of transplant patients. The incidence of this virus in solid organ transplants is reported to be 2%. However, the exact incidence of infection in kidney transplants is unknown, although there are figures as high as 12%.REFERENCES
