Diagnosis of the current state of the professional pedagogical mode of action of the nursing care teacher

ABSTRACT
Introduction: the improvement of the teaching-methodological work constitutes an indispensable element for the permanent improvement of the teacher and in the effectiveness of the training of future professionals. Objective: to diagnose the current state of the professional pedagogical mode of action of nursing teachers. Methods: a descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out in a universe of 54 nursing teachers. The instruments were constructed and validated according to specialist criteria. The variable pedagogical professional mode of action of the nursing teacher was parameterized with three dimensions and 14 indicators. Results: the dimension with the best results was the Affective, communicative and ethical dimension. In the overall evaluation of the variable, the low level predominated. The weaknesses identified are the mastery of the teaching-methodological work, decision-making in unexpected situations that arise in the exercise of the profession, the scientific method of the profession, characterization of the students, commitment and satisfaction with the activity performed, flexibility in the teaching-educational process, scientific updating, participation in research, publications and scientific events, as well as in promotion to the teaching categories. Among the potentialities identified is the need for improvement and mastery of Information and Communication Technologies. Conclusions: it was diagnosed the current state of the professional pedagogical mode of action of nursing teachers. Weaknesses and potentialities to be considered in order to improve the professional pedagogical mode of action of nursing teachers were identified.REFERENCES
