ABSTRACT
Introduction: developmental dysplastic hip disease can range from slight incongruity between the articular surfaces to dislocation of the femoral head outside the acetabulum. The prevalence among neonates in Mexico is 1%. For these cases, the diagnosis is made using the Graf technique. Objective: the aim was to evaluate the prediction and reliability of a risk factors questionnaire for screening before the Graf technique. Material and methods: a quantitative, cohort, longitudinal, prospective, and analytical study was designed. The study universe was neonates from the Guanajuato General Hospital of the Guanajuato State Public Health Institute, carried out between April and June 2023. A risk factors questionnaire for the Developmental Dysplastic Disease of the Hip was applied, and the prediction characteristics and reliability were analyzed. Results: reliability was measured with the Kappa coefficient, obtaining 100% for the intra- and inter-observer cases. Regarding the prediction, the Area Under the Curve of the ROC curve was 0.604 (CI95% 0.477-0.731). Conclusions: the results obtained were not conclusive. However, the point estimates suggest that the risk factor questionnaire may support the screening for developmental dysplastic disease of the hip.REFERENCES
