ABSTRACT
Testicular cancer is the most common malignancy in men between the ages from 15 to 35. Brain metastases occur
in less than 2%-3%, but imply poor prognosis. The objective of this article is to highlight the importance of considering
brain metastases for the management of these cases.
A 34-year-old male patient who went to the Emergency Room due to an increase in the right testicular size,
adynamia, malaise, headache, nausea and vomiting. Physical examination showed testicle increased in volume and
consistency. The images reported lesions suggestive to testicular tumor and brain metastases. Radical orchiectomy
and radiotherapy were performed. Histopathology confirmed the presence of mixed germ cell tumor, with classic
seminoma (60%) and embryonal carcinoma (40%). The patient died after the second fraction of radiotherapy, with
severe convulsive symptoms.
The timely diagnosis of the testicular tumor and its metastases make possible an adequate treatment, which will
have an impact on the morbidity and mortality of patients.
