ABSTRACT

Erythromelalgia is an underdiagnosed condition affecting mainly extremities. It is classified as primary or idiopathic if there is no underlying disease and is characterized by a burning sensation and erythema of the involved extremity. Symptoms appear when the limb is lowered or heat is applied, and improve with the application of cold or elevation of the limb. Diagnosis is clinical and treatment is symptomatic. The following article presents a case of a 16-year-old male with this pathology.
