Bioethical and biolegal challenges revealed during the SARS-COVID-19 coronacrisis in Venezuelan medical society

ABSTRACT

The article aims to highlight various bioethical and even biolegal ethical dilemmas typical of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic in the daily medical and health care of patients infected, infected and sick with this new Coronavirus. . Some relevant ethical-bioethical dilemmas related to the proportionality of the measures implemented by the State of Alarm decreed by the Venezuelan national executive were reviewed. This caused a situation between the availability of medical health resources and the needs for medical care, management palliative and regarding the challenges generated in the context of the progressive scarcity of resources, to the duties and roles of Venezuelan doctors in the care of patients sick with COVID-19 and those chronic patients who saw their care postponed outpatient medical In the process of making decisions based on ethical-bioethical principles of public health. Which puts stress on the public health system and exposed doctors to greater risk, where a whole set of actions or omissions were highlighted that made visible the human aspects of the practice of medicine. Conclusion: this coronacrisis, which caused and continues to cause havoc at different levels, especially in ethical-bioethical matters, could and can reveal legal biolegal consequences to the Venezuelan medical society. Therefore, it is necessary to consider its importance in order to reflect and decide well.
