Burnout syndrome and job performance in health workers. Bicentennial Modular Hospital of Peru

ABSTRACT
Background: Burnout syndrome in health workers; who, due to the nature of their work, carry out activities in constant stress, deteriorate their well-being and, therefore, reduce their work performance, which produces dissatisfaction and has a negative impact on the quality of patient care.Objective: determine the relationship between Burnout syndrome and work performance in health workers at a Bicentenario Modular Hospital in Peru.
Methods: a descriptive, cross-sectional study was carried out during from October-to December 2023. The participants were evaluated virtually through two questionnaires that were sent via WhatsApp using the Google Forms format. Subsequently, the data obtained were analyzed using descriptive statistics and Spearman's non-parametric Rho test.
Results: it was established that 48% of the participants presented Burnout syndrome at a moderate level, 28% at a high level and 24% at a low level. Regarding job performance, 42% showed an average level, 34% a good level and 24% showed a poor level. A significant relationship was found between both variables (Rho = -0.228; p = 0.012).
Conclusions: it was determined that there is a significant relationship between Burnout syndrome and work performance in health workers at a Modular Bicentenario hospital in Peru.
