ABSTRACT

Early warning systems in nursing for the prevention of cardiac arrest are based on theoretical references that support the decisions of the care practice and respond to scientific evidence to create a culture of good practice in the profession. Florence Nightingale and Betty Neuman are true exponents for their contributions in this regard. The authors' objective is to highlight the value of the theoretical references that support nursing care practices related to early warning for the prevention of cardiac arrest, necessary knowledge for professionals and students of undergraduate and postgraduate medical sciences.
