ABSTRACT

The project “Sexuality education in the training of medical students” began in 2023 at the University of Medical Sciences in Villa Clara and was extended in January 2024 to the nursing program, due to the close relationships between the students. The diagnosis revealed the need to address sexual health from the perspective of the human papillomavirus, due to its direct impact on cervical, vulvar, anal, and oral cancer. Based on the diagnosis, educational activities were developed in the university student residence, using the scientific results obtained in the research carried out by specialists at the Mariana Grajales University Gynecological and Obstetrics Hospital in Santa Clara. The aim of the article is to share the experiences of researchers in the prevention of human papillomavirus in medical science university students through educational interventions.
