Congenital ocular Toxoplasmosis. Myth or Reality

ABSTRACT

The case of a 3 years old female patient is presented who at 15 days of birth is diagnosed with an esotropy of the right eye without alterations on ophthalmological examination, followed by the strabismus service with alternate occlusions, at 3 years of age appears a choriorretinian plaque in the macular area of the right eye, evolving with multiple chorioretinitis lesions on the periphery in the left eye that appear at 6 years of age , with positive serological diagnosis for the mother and the patient, being a Bilateral Congenital Eye Toxoplasmosis whose form of presentation was typical according to the literature but atypical in its presentation mode. The authors review the topic and offer their experiences in handling the case.
