ABSTRACT

Post-dural puncture headache is a known complication that appears after an unintentional dural puncture during epidural analgesia or after an intentional puncture for different diagnostic or therapeutic procedures. The case of a patient who presents post-dural puncture headache after the placement of an intrathecal implant to control cancer pain is presented, in which it was decided to place a blood patch to resolve the condition. The different therapeutic possibilities and the lack of similar cases in the literature that could have served as guidance in this particular case are analyzed. In conclusion, we found that placing the blood patch was the best option taking into account the particularities of the case and in accordance with current evidence.
