ABSTRACT

Reconstruction of complex lower limb wounds remains a frequent challenge in secondary level hospitals with limited resources. We present three clinical cases with bone exposure managed with regional flaps: medial gastrocnemius, reverse sural and lateral fasciocutaneous flaps. All patients achieved stable coverage, good integration to the recipient bed, and favorable postoperative outcomes, without major complications or need for amputation. These results highlight regional flaps as a safe, practical and reproducible option to preserve the lower limb function and viability in resource constrained settings.
