ABSTRACT

Apocrine tubular adenoma is a benign sweat gland tumor with apocrine differentiation. It is uncommon and typically affects the scalps of adult women across a wide age range. Clinically, it presents as a solitary, well-circumscribed nodule of variable size that is asymptomatic and slow-growing.
Diagnosis is established through clinicopathological correlation and is characterized by well-formed tubular structures lined by a luminal layer exhibiting decapitation secretion and an outer myoepithelial layer. Surgical excision is the treatment of choice, and recurrences are exceptional. We present the case of a 51-year-old woman with an asymptomatic solitary scalp nodule of one year’s duration and histopathological analysis consistent with tubular apocrine adenoma. This case highlights the differential diagnosis and the value of histopathological examination in the diagnosis of cutaneous adnexal tumors.
