ABSTRACT

This is a prospective, descriptive, observational and longitudinal trial for assessment of our technique of arthroscopic meniscal repair outside-inside by 2 needles. Eight patients (5 male, 3 female), aged 15 to 35 years, who had meniscal tears in the anterior horn, red-red zone or red-white zone and minimum 10 mm in length, produced less than 3 months before were included. Ligament tears were also repaired in such a case. Suture was nylon 000. A Jones bandage was applied for 2 weeks and weight-bearing was delayed for 6 weeks. After a follow-up of 7 to 14 months, suture was lost in 2 cases who required a second arthroscopic review for resecting the loose meniscal fragment and remodeling the remnant. Overall results were excellent in 4 cases, (50%), good in 2 (25% ) and poor in 2 (2.5%).
