ABSTRACT

Introduction: The surgical treatment of choice in the first instance before a humeral diaphysis fracture surgery are intramedullary nails. So are simple plates or external fixators that in different studies reported a large percentage of complications. Objective: To implement an alternative system of treatment that shows to be minimal invasive, painless and inexpensive. Material and methods: Applied in 7 patients with a follow-up to a year. The type of study is prospective, cross-sectional observational and descriptive. Results: The results were no cases of nonunion, no delayed unions or infections, no radial or circumflex nerve injury added postoperatively with a functional restoration of 90% between the 6th and the 8th weeks of the surgery, and a proper consolidation. Conclusions: This treatment method proved to be minimally invasive with no extra features in their application with a functional recovery between the 6th and 8th week after surgery. The total cost turned out to be minor in comparison to other surgical methods.
