ABSTRACT

The glandular odontogenic cyst is an unusual lesion with a more aggressive biological behavior than other developmental odontogenic cysts. It occurs over a wide of range age and has no clinical or radiographic characteristics that allow to differentiate it from other intraosseous cysts. The histopathology is very characteristic as it shows a stratified squamous epithelium that contains duct-like structures of glandular appearance and therefore it is known as glandular odontogenic cyst or sialo-odontogenic cyst. We present a case of a patient with a cyst located in the anterior mandible, which was treated with curettage and milling of the bone margins, a literature review is also presented.
