ABSTRACT

A male neonate with respiratory difficulty was diagnosed, clinically and radiologically, with effusion of the left lung.
A thoracocentesis shown a yellowish milky liquid and the laboratory confirmed the diagnosis of chylothorax.
A drainage tube was placed in the thorax and was removed when the effusion desapeared. The patient was released in a good general state of health.
