ABSTRACT

Objective. To evaluate the relation between the factors of scholastic desertion and pregnancy in the adolescent.
Material and Methods. Longitudinal, descriptive and quantitative study was made of a sample of 84 pregnant adolescents under 20 years old in a prenatal consultation in the gynecology department of a private clinic in the city of Oaxaca. Instrument type of interviews in a certificate of items that they include personal data, situation with their partner and scholastic situation. A statistical package for social sciences program was applied; for the test of hypothesis parametric statistic was used, test of linear correlation of post sickle of multiple comparisons for the validity of the interview the statistical test Alpha Cronbach was used wick was of 0.7344
Results. In 60.7% were single mothers, the time of relation with their partners was of less than six month in 41.8%. The scholastic average varied from 6.2 average term in age of 12 years to 88 in average term in ages of 19 and 20 years old. In the post hoc test dependent variables; age, scholastic are age, and time of relation with their partner were significant (P‹0.05) for pregnancy and scholastic situation.
Conclusion. An important relation exists between smaller age, short relation with their partner low school grades and scholar desertion being all this factors lineal and correlated
