We studied the safety and effectiveness of obstretric epidural analgesia. 40 pregnant patients in work of childbird (TP) were studied, which ramdomized in 2 groups of 20 was divided each one. The group (A) in order to alleviate them the pain of the TP they received for via epidural 8 mg of SP nalbufina in a volumen of 8 ml, of saline normal solution; and the group (B) in order to alleviate them the pain of the TP, they received for via peridural 80 mg of lidocaine 1% c/epinefrin. The modifications of the intensity of the pain according to an EVA, they were registred every 15 minutes during the first 75 minutes after the blockade. The test of "T" indicate that the lidocaína produced a more intense relief of the pain. (P‹0.05 a P‹0.001).
