ABSTRACT

Objective. To identify the frequency of early neonatal sepsis (NS) in term neonates, with premature rupture of membranes (PRM). Material and methods. Comparative study in 82 at term neonates, 41 born in between 12 to 23 hours after the rupture and 41 born at the 24 hours or more. The causal microorganism were identified. Results. The frequency of sepsis in between the 12 to 23 hours of the rupture was found in 17.4% neonates and at 24 hours or after it was found 17.7% neonates; in all of these the hemoculture shown gram-positive bacteria. Conclusions. We didn’t found any difference in frequency of NS by the time of membranes rupture and the cultivated bacterium were gram positive bacterias.
