ABSTRACT
Rett’s syndrome (RS) is a pervasive neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by autistic behavior, stereotypic movements of hands, loss speech and communication, acquired microcephaly. The diagnosis of RS is mainly based on their clinical characteristics and evolution of the syndrome, there is no laboratory marker that facilitates diagnosis. RS patients often are confused with autism, although they differ in their evolution. We report a case of the RS diagnosed 3 years 9 months age where was found proliferation of harmful bacteria and yeast and high levels of neurotoxic metals.
