ABSTRACT

In the initial management of the burn patient, an important point is to guarantee the patient´s airway. The presence of edema on nasopharynx and oropharynx can make difficult orotraqueal intubation with traditional methods. In this case we present a female patient with burn in 80% of her corporal surface, in which we manage the airway using an ILA laryngeal mask.
