Laparoscopic cystograstroanastomosis in the treatment of pancreatic pseudocyst: A case report and literature review

ABSTRACT

Background: Pancreatic pseudocysts are collections of pancreatic secretions, necrotic tissue and/or blood, encapsulated by the non-epithelialized wall adjacent organs, rich in amylase, which occur as a result of acute pancreatitis, chronic pancreatitis, pancreatic trauma or obstruction of pancreatic duct. His resolution through conventional surgery in recent years has been replaced by minimally invasive procedures (percutaneous, endoscopic and laparoscopic). Objective: A case report and review of literature. Case report: We describe a case of a 33 year old male with chronic alcoholism who presented with abdominal pain and postprandial fullness progressive, more than seven weeks of evolution with intake of 500 mL of tequila every other day identified by CT Pancreatic pseudocyst accessible to laparoscopic surgery. Previous tomographic control, through an incision in the anterior wall of the stomach was punctured and continued with the opening of the back of the stomach with a harmonic scalpel, making a marsupialization (cystogastroanastomosis) and drainage of 2000 mL. Patient follow-up was for six months remaining asymptomatic with no apparent recurrence. We suggest the laparoscopic cystogastroanastomosis a safe and effective, to rely only on diagnostic endoscopy in our hospital.
