ABSTRACT

The difficulty is well known of rendering the diagnosis of hemangioblastoma with single computer tomography images. To know the agreement diagnosis among observers in our hospital unit, we presented to two medical radiologists, twenty-five computer tomography (CT) studies (twenty heman-gioblastomas, three vascular malformations, and two cystic astrocytomas). The diagnosis for each case was registered and analyzed by means of Kappa index. The index of agreement among observers was slight for hemangioblastoma diagnosis and +1 in the remaining cases. These results confirm that in our unit, CT has only 10 % sensitivity for hemangioblastoma diagnosis.
