ABSTRACT
During the placement of dental implants, Guided Bone Regeneration (GBR) represents one of the most succesfull techniques in creating sufficient bone tissue. During recent years the use of membranes for GBR has been changing from a non-resorvable membrane to resorvable membranes. The present paper will explain in deep the different types of membranes present today for achieving GBR, as well as the results encountered with the use of the different types of membranes. At the same time it gives a review of the indications for GBR and the properties that a GBR membrane should include in order to be used for GBR.
