ABSTRACT
Objective. To evaluate the analgesic respons to bolus nalbuphine or intravenous infusion.
Material and methods. Longitudinal, prospective, experimental and comparative study, including 12 patients with presumably acute pain, 7 posoperative patients and 5 with multiple trauma injuries either treated with bolus or infusion nalbuphine. We recorder the OUCHER, CHEOPS, 9 faces interval, analogue visual scales and physiological dates for periods of 4 hour. Statistical analysis by means of central tendency, the coefficient of correlation and Spearman correlations.
Results. The results are presented as the mean and SD. The level of statistical significance was set at p ‹ 0.05. To both groups the physiological was found at p › 0.05 also OUCHER and CHEOPS. The coefficient of correlation for cardiac and respiratory rate (CR and RR) bolus nalbuphine was CR = 0.31- 0.50, RR = 0.22 - 0.54. The CHEOPS had a correlation Spearman rs = + 0.23 with bolus nalbuphine and infusion rs = 0.50 (p › 0.05). To OUCHER with bolus, rs = -0.25 an infusion rs = 0.27(p ‹ 0.05). The E and D faces had a correlation with bolus nalbuphine (50-70%).
Conclusions. We did not found an statistical significance between physiological datas, CHEOPS and OUCHER whit nalbuphine either bolus or infusion. Further investigation are required to determine analgesic respons and appropriate treatment on children population.
