ABSTRACT

We present the case of a patient with an osteoma in the right inferior turbinate. Headache and unilateral nasal obstruction were the only symptoms referred, and which required surgical removal through a transnasal approach, widening the nasal vestibule with an alar incision. We briefly describe its clinical characteristics, etiology, treatment, histology and radiologic patterns, besides discussing the two main differential diagnoses which are ossifying fibroma and fibrous dysplasia, pathologies catalogued as benign fibro-osseous injuries.
