ABSTRACT

The aim of this paper is a review of the literature relating to supernumerary teeth with a case report to illustrate his management. Supernumerary teeth represents the 0.1 to 3.6 in general population, affecting to the male sex in 2:1 proportion compared with the female sex. These teeth varied in their form, location and their presence may rise to a variety of clinical complications during the mixed dentition period. Proper management in the classification, diagnosis and treatment should form part of a multidisciplinary approach in order to avoid clinical problems associated with this difficult entity during the dental practice.
