ABSTRACT

This paper is a study of the behaviour of scientific production in relation to the theme of Information Management in journals of "Web of Science" between 1995 and 2008. The analysis is carried out through unidimensional and multidimensional indicators allowed the main peculiarities of scientific production during this period to be determined. Productivity of articles by year, productivity of articles by journal, authorial productivity, most productive institutions, the more cited authors, idiomatic productivity, productivity by thematic category and productivity by descriptors are among some of the unidimensional indicators that will be used. Some of the multidimensional indicators that will be used are authorial collaboration, author co-citation, institutional collaboration, the thematic categories and descriptors co-occurrence. The results of this study not only allow the assessment of the scientific production behaviour, but also contributing to determine the possible tendencies in this specific area of knowledge.
