Background, present and future of the Mexican Journal of Clinical Pathology

ABSTRACT

The UNESCO remarks that the aim of a scientific article consists of communicating the results and findings of research, ideas and debates in a clear, precise and reliable way. From the aforementioned fact, we must say that the material to be published should be of rigorous quality. Attached to this last situation, it is elementary to evaluate the quality, repercussion and visibility of medical publications. Here we present a bibliometric study from the Mexican Journal of Clinical Pathology, which includes the three last volumes composed of twelve numbers or publications, from September 2008 to September 2011. This document presents and analyzes the type of published information, the authors’ origin, the institution participation, the use of literature references, what kind of condition the journal keeps with the electronic media, indexes or journals indicating where the magazine is included, number of quotations and journals quoting it, the most required articles along with their original authors, the network visit and consultation average, and another important facts.
