ABSTRACT

A structure based on writers Tom Miller´s and Dee Parker´s experience was suggested in this paper. This structure may be very useful in drafting academic articles and is widely used as a basis for papers that are published in specialized English teaching magazines such as English Teaching Forum in USA. The author analyzed how this structure could be used by the English teaching professors who find it very difficult to write «publishable» articles, and the possible advantages that it might bring to the teaching of this specialty in the Medical University of Havana. Then, is it possible for these professors to succeed in writing and publishing academic articles of excellence? It is expected that the basic structure analyzed in this paper would not only help the professors to write academic articles of excellence but also encourage them to become better and more critical readers.
