ABSTRACT
Juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) consists of a group of heterogeneous disorders of chronic arthritis in childhood that begins before 16 years of age, with no apparent cause but is believed that both genetic and environmental factors are involved. JIA is the most common rheumatic disease in children and may still result in significant morbidity, with joint deformity, growth impairment, and persistence of active arthritis into adulthood.
