ABSTRACT

A 38-year-old man with a small stone in the left proximal ureter was treated with rigid ureteroscopy that resulted in extensive injury to the inferior ureter. Urinary transit was restored by means of an ileal segment. The advantages of ureteral replacement with ileal segments are described, along with the favorable outcome for this particular patient.
