ABSTRACT

Objective: To determine the pregnancy rate with assisted biochemical hatching in patients older than age 34 years.
Patients and method: Case report. Human Reproduction Service of the Centro Médico Nacional 20 de Noviembre, ISSSTE. Patients older than 34 years who agreed to assisted hatching with acidic Tyrode’s solution. Assisted hatching with acidic Tyrode’s solution to embryos on their 3rd day of development.
Results: We included 34 patients aged 38.6 ± 4.7 years, follicle stimulating hormone to initiate the cycle of stimulation of 9.2 ± 5 IU/L, antral follicles 6.7 ± 5.1. Embryo transfer was performed on 34 patients, presenting a pregnancy rate of 32.4% (11 of 34 patients).
Conclusions: The study showed a pregnancy rate of 32.4%. It requires a randomized controlled trial to determine efficacy of this technique.
