ABSTRACT
Oral cavity lipomas are a relatively uncommon type of tumor, only 1-4% of which are found on the tongue. They are characterized by theirs low growth and show no predilection in terms of sex. In an attempt to rectify the paucity of reports published on this specific type of lipoma, we consider one particular case and also carry out a review of the literature. The case in question concerns a 72-year-old female patient presenting an oral cavity lipoma located on the inferior face of the tongue, which was diagnosed and surgically treated at Ciudad Juárez General Hospital.
