ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study was to identify the most frequently nursing diagnosis tags in people with spinal Cord Injury (SCI) in rehabilitation process at Spinal cord Injured Ward.
Methodology, this is a descriptive, observational, transversal; simple: integrated by 90 clinical nursing records performed by nursing staff. The data collection was performed through a specific instrument in order to identify the most frequently nursing diagnosis tags for the SCI people according to the North American Nursing Diagnosis Association Taxonomy (2005- 2006). Data were analyzed with descriptive statistical techniques. The results were: physical movement impairment, skin integrity damage risk, self-care deficit: bathing, dressing; skin integrity damage, constipation, reflex urinary tract incontinence, fecal incontinence, ineffective clean up of the airways, autonomic dysreflexia, impairment of the ability to pass and others diagnosis. Based on the results, the Nursing Interventions and the Nursing Outcomes will be identified specifically for SCI patients.
