Combination of the Frova® Guide and the Airtraq® video laryngoscope for the endotracheal tube exchange in the surgery for the obstructive sleep apnea syndrome

ABSTRACT

The aim of this study is to demonstrate the usefulness of combined use of Airtraq® videolaryngoscope and guidance Frova® for the exchange nasal endotracheal tube during surgery for Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome (OSAS). We designed a prospective study in which seven cases were collected. The technique was similar in all of them, following a procedure previously defined. We collected the time spent, number of attempts and complications. In seven cases, endotracheal tube exchange was successful, without incident or complication, offering speed and security in a move always difficult.
