ABSTRACT

In order to emphasize in the diagnosis of diabetes mellitus type 2 in children and adolescents, here is reported the case of a 13 year-old adolescent attended in a Urgencies Hospital Service. In this report are related the rules followed in the diagnosis of this illness, the clinical and laboratory data obtained in the hospital that sustained the diagnosis, and some aspects of the handling of these sick persons.
