ABSTRACT

The current achievements of Cuban Medicine insert their roots in the work of people of preceding generations who dedicated their life to the medical sciences. Those roots had to be studied and valued taking into account all its edges. The life and work of Antonio Recasens y Garrido deserve being reexamined again and again because they had many facets and the results of his work do not deserve being forgotten.
