ABSTRACT

Leishmaniasis is an infection caused by protozoa of the genus Leishmania. Mucocutaneous leishmaniasis is one of the clinical forms that presents more severity, due to the involvement of the upper airway, which can lead to incapacitating consequences or even death.
We report the case of a patient with diagnosis of mucocutaneous leishmaniasis with significant laryngeal involvement which had excellent response to treatment with pentavalent antimonials.
