La importancia de la psicología de enlace en la unidad de terapia intensiva

ABSTRACT

This paper aims to demonstrate the relevance of Psychology Service within a hospital setting where the role of a psychologist with the medical staff and nurses, to integrate a comprehensive treatment for the patient, not only in the area of health physical but also in mental health. To cover the above review the history of psychology as a discipline and its orientation towards the area of health, for this, will present the fundamental concepts that make up the psychology of health, in order to publicize the work of a psychologist in hospitals, mainly in intensive care. It also will present the various functions that can play within it, in order to emphasize the importance and the necessity for a health service to have a psychologist in their team.
