ABSTRACT

Apical hypertrophic cardiomyopathy is a form of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy localized to the left ventricular apex. It is common in Japanese and other Asian populations, where it is generally considered relatively benign. Electrocardiographic changes and symptoms often associated presented as acute coronary syndromes. The evaluation methods invasive or noninvasive confirm diagnosis with the classic image in “ace of spades”. We present the case of a Mexican patient with findings suggestive of an acute coronary syndrome and apical hypertrophic cardiomyopaty.
