ABSTRACT

Primary bone leiomyosarcoma represents sporadic cases constituing itself a unique clinicopathological entity. It is an extremely rare bone tumor some reports have observed its location in the metaphysis of long bones. It is believed that these lesions originate from smooth muscle cells of the blood vessel wall in long bones or pluripotential mesenchymal cells. Histology is the same as the soft tissue leiomyosarcoma. The gender distribution of these tumors does not show gender differences or is lightly predominant in males. The prognosis is poor, with low survival rates. In this report, we present imaging findings and the rapid evolution in MRI and PET-CT images of a case of primary bone leiomyosarcoma.
