ABSTRACT

Introduction. The senescent cell or senile, characterized for a progression of events for which the cell goes on to a state of not division, influences the morphologic changes of the patients catalogued with the syndrome of chronic fatigue. Material and methods. We label with radionuclides the betta-galactosidase (a staining molecule for senescent cells) and tested by radiocromathography, radiopharmacy and genetical test in experimental animals, approved this test we make scans in 50 patient catalogued as “chronic fatigue syndrome”. Results. 60% of them (30 cases) have a “senile thyroid” with good results to levotiroxine therapeutic. Conclusion. The results are very encorageous and because the harmless, reliable and simple diagnoses made by this new method and radiopharmaceutical we proposed the betta-galactosidase for the detection of this new syndrome of “senescent thyroid”.
