Trash toe syndrome, thoracoabdominal aneurysm, hybrid procedure.

ABSTRACT

We present a case who started with bilateral “trash toe syndrome” in feet. The CT scan showed a thoracoabdominal aneurysm that compromised the distal thoracic aorta and ended just over the celiac trunk. We decided repair the problem in two times: The first consisted in a bifurcated bypass, with the origin on distal aorta, one branch to the celiac trunk and the other one to the superior mesenteric artery. In a second phase we released a tubular endoprotesis over the mentioned aneurysm and it was anchored under the celiac trunk origin. In the recent times, it had proved that this type of combined procedures is a much appropriated way to repair these problems, not just in high risk patients but in middle risk too.
