ABSTRACT

In this paper, we assess the importance of the diagnostic criteria for Multiple Sclerosis, from their original description by Professor Poser in 1983, until the present time when Mc Donald’s criteria pretend to stand out the studies of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (RMN) as a fundamental question for the diagnosis.
It is certain that in Latin America, we have not had a good availability in this type studies due to their cost, but we remark the importance of the clinical features, since the appearance of suggestive images of desmielinizacion can point to different pathologies of the Central Nervous System.
